Market Reports
Markets go up and down on a regular basis and no two cattle are alike.
There are many different aspects that dictate the cattle market on any given day:
color, quality, condition, vaccinations, days weaned and weather to name a few. Any of these will be a factor in the price.
Quality Cattle Sales Since 1969
Our grandparents Murrel and Adelaide Cochran along with our parents Bob and Judy Cochran purchased the Oxford Sale Barn from the Joe Collins family in January 1969. Murrel and Bob ran the auction, Adelaide ran the kitchen and Judy ran the office.
We hold our regular weekly auction every Tuesday at 12:30 selling all classes of livestock. We also hold special feeder cattle auctions from August thru April on Tuesdays starting at 12:00 as well as bred cow and heifer sales as advertised.
We welcome all sellers and buyers alike and accommodate the small producer with a handful of cows up to the backgrounder selling a straight load or more of all steers or heifers.
Conveniently located 15 miles west of Iowa City, 3 miles north of I-80.
We pride ourselves in selling quality farm fresh feeder cattle and would like the opportunity to work for you. If you would like an on the farm visit, don’t hesitate to call.
The kitchen is open every Tuesday at 11:00 serving made from scratch beef and ham dinners, hamburgers and one of the best tenderloins you will find, along with several choices of homemade pies.
